    • Work closely with a mentor who will assign tasks, special projects, and provide daily direction.
    • Potential opportunities to travel to other cities within the United Airlines network for business trips and off-site visits.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the FOIP, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science or a related field.
  • Academic Standing: At least a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student within one year of graduation at the start of the internship.
  • Certifications:
    • FAA Instrument rating required.
    • FAA Commercial Certificate highly preferred.
    • FAA Multi-Engine Rating preferred.
    • FAA Medical Certificate (First, Second, or Third class) required.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid passport required for international travel experience.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
    • Must pass a U.S. driver’s/criminal background check and drug screen.
    • Must be willing to find and pay for housing in the respective city.
